This week was a fun one!!! We recently moved and are getting used to a new space and backyard. We have 3 Pomeranians and they are loving all the new space and are taking over the backyard, living their best lives. Tuesday was an earlier morning than usual. It was 5am and Coco went out and came right back in as usual. Cash Money stayed in bed bc he does what he wants. Tango went out, but would NOT come back in. As he rolled around in the dirt, I was losing my mind. I ran out to grab him only to realize our little Tango got sprayed by a skunk…IN THE FACE!
By then, I had him in my arms coming inside DYING! Not knowing where to go, or what to do, I ran to the laundry sink and got to bathing him with a coconut shampoo to strip the oils as I gagged. Erik thought it would be hilarious to record and honestly I wasn’t mad about it! We've had a good laugh over the whole thing, but I digress. We googled all the remedies only to see all the irritation warnings. Erik mentioned that the skunk spray is oil based and I thought to myself….FRACTIONATED COCONUT OIL!! Anytime I need to dilute an essential oil, I use just that, so I ran to grab it and put it on little Tango’s face. Who would have thought that this would have worked? It instantly neutralized the pungent smell. Don’t get me wrong, it didn’t REMOVE the smell, but again, it neutralized it. For the next 12 hours, I used 3 diffusers throughout the house with an essential oil blend called Purify. IYKYK. It has been about 24-48 hours since and the smell is virtually GONE! Essential oils and fractionated coconut oil to the rescue and I just had to share. Love + light, Mona
