It’s been a hot sec and it is time to re-introduce myself. My name is Mona Saenz, founder and designer of Original EOB.
The main question we get asked around here is ‘What does EOB stand for?’ The answer….EOB literally stands for ESSENTIAL OIL BRACELET. The Original EOB! We started with 1 design in 2016 out of chaos. You see, in 2011, I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease called Graves’ disease (after years of being unwell). From surgical ICU, to being given my last rights in 2013, I was unable to live a normal lifestyle and found myself being forced into ‘retirement’ from a corporate career. My husband, Erik and I found ourselves fighting for my life, desperately looking for answers on how to live a different lifestyle for the sake of my health and the well being of our family. 2015 was the start of learning about supplemental essential oils and by 2016 we just couldn’t leave home without them. It begged the question, how can we have them with us at all times. The answer….LAVA stones!! Lava stones are the key to diffusing oils. Lava stones absorb the essential oils while your body heat diffuses said oils. A designer at heart, I began creating pieces to share with others not knowing that it would be the start of a beautiful, healing journey. As EOB has evolved, so has our meaning and our message. As literal as EOB is, it has come to represent our family as our babies names begin with E and B. The O further represents the unity of this community. Together we are #soulgoals! If you have made it this far, thank you for your support. I love you! XO, Mona

We had such a fun time on the Kens5 set. Roma and Christina are rock stars when it comes to being face to face with the camera. I thought Mona was a rock star since she has been on TV a few times. She gave the rundown on how things will go and I thought cool. Hahaha, not cool. After going through the dialog flow, we went LIVE! Nothing happened like we planned. I was supposed to be asked about essential oils, and have my moment. Nope, instead Mona was asked who answered like a PRO!!! I also wiped my face during the live segment because I felt the world was watching and could see my sweaty nose. Ugh, all and all I am still very proud of my self as I did not curse which was my biggest worry. Had a great time and was able to stand next to this beauty!
- Erik We were extremely humbled and honored to be featured at the 25th annual Lift Fund celebration. This group of finance professionals really helped us make the decision and educate us on what is best for us. This event was really nice and we were able to dress all fancy during the day. Mona and I would ask who dresses up during the day for lunches like this or Galas during the day? Well now we know and we enjoyed ourselves to the fullest. Emotions were strong and it helped us feel "recognition" in some way. So much goes into "Living your dream" but once you are there, you will do anything to keep it.
- Erik We are officially back in school and have made it through our second week! We are loving our new teachers and totally adjusting to being back on our routines. With the whole adjusting thing comes germs. My little guy already brought the sniffles home and let's just say he doesn't handle not feeling well...well. Let me tell you, these 2 oils have been our best friends. A couple of drops of On Guard on his feet and some Breathe rolled on his chest and he can sleep peacefully. Well, as peacefully as he possibly can because this child has never been a big sleeper and is ready to go first thing in the morning, but I digress.
In January 2012, I was in the middle of a Project Management career and sick as can be. I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease that was so far gone it was going to take a miracle to change my health. A miracle by the name of Erik Nicholas came along in Dec 2012. We didn't know if he would make it though the pregnancy, but he arrived via emergency c-section. Four month after delivering, the doctors cleared me for surgery. An overnight procedure turned into a long surgical ICU stay in April-May of 2013. My body shut down after so much and it took a lot of care and prayers to stabilize me.
Fighting to hold on, my husband and the team of nurses and doctors were able to help get me back home back to my babies. This was followed by several foggy years and still no clearance to go back to work in the near future, if at all. May 2015 came and we just couldn't continue being in limbo both financially and emotionally. We started the disability process to no avail. My condition has never been text book so we were in for a long, not to mention, stressful fight. An opportunity came by that I am forever grateful we trusted was part of our journey. We were introduced to a company and we decided to take a chance on it. Through my health journey, I started realizing the quality of certain products and the need to be more health conscious so this was a perfect fit. As our journey continued, we were introduced to essential oils. I have to say, I was a bit intimidated by essential oils as I didn't know much about them. Some of my doctors had mentioned their benefits and told me to look into them for my conditions. The company I was representing at the time, introduced a blend of essential oils in early 2016. I fell love!! I loved my oils, but was never good at keeping them with me. A trip in November changed everything. I came across an article that talked about natural stones and using them as diffusers. Christmas was around the corner and I thought diffuser jewelry would be a perfect gift!! I went on a search and nothing. A couple of random pieces, but nothing consistent. I couldn't stop thinking about this. Why?! What did this mean? I've always had a love for natural stone jewelry and marketing has always been my jam. I talked this over with my husband and my daughter and they saw the vision. We all thought EOB would be a great compliment to our established venture and a great start-up. With a marketing plan in place, we started small. By the beginning of 2017, it was clear that EOB was not just meant to compliment our business, but rather something bigger. EOB was OUR company, not just a company to represent. A company that compliments all essential oils, not just one brand. We took EOB out of the shadows and is now front and center of what we do and who we are. We are are changing the way we live. We want to live a more conscious life and we want to share this with the world. Our mission statement is simple...EOB is anchored in hope & soul and we are looking to change the world. We invite you on our journey and we hope you love the brand that comes with our #liveclean movement. XO, Mona |
