In January 2012, I was in the middle of a Project Management career and sick as can be. I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease that was so far gone it was going to take a miracle to change my health. A miracle by the name of Erik Nicholas came along in Dec 2012. We didn't know if he would make it though the pregnancy, but he arrived via emergency c-section. Four month after delivering, the doctors cleared me for surgery. An overnight procedure turned into a long surgical ICU stay in April-May of 2013. My body shut down after so much and it took a lot of care and prayers to stabilize me.
Fighting to hold on, my husband and the team of nurses and doctors were able to help get me back home back to my babies. This was followed by several foggy years and still no clearance to go back to work in the near future, if at all. May 2015 came and we just couldn't continue being in limbo both financially and emotionally. We started the disability process to no avail. My condition has never been text book so we were in for a long, not to mention, stressful fight. An opportunity came by that I am forever grateful we trusted was part of our journey. We were introduced to a company and we decided to take a chance on it. Through my health journey, I started realizing the quality of certain products and the need to be more health conscious so this was a perfect fit. As our journey continued, we were introduced to essential oils. I have to say, I was a bit intimidated by essential oils as I didn't know much about them. Some of my doctors had mentioned their benefits and told me to look into them for my conditions. The company I was representing at the time, introduced a blend of essential oils in early 2016. I fell love!! I loved my oils, but was never good at keeping them with me. A trip in November changed everything. I came across an article that talked about natural stones and using them as diffusers. Christmas was around the corner and I thought diffuser jewelry would be a perfect gift!! I went on a search and nothing. A couple of random pieces, but nothing consistent. I couldn't stop thinking about this. Why?! What did this mean? I've always had a love for natural stone jewelry and marketing has always been my jam. I talked this over with my husband and my daughter and they saw the vision. We all thought EOB would be a great compliment to our established venture and a great start-up. With a marketing plan in place, we started small. By the beginning of 2017, it was clear that EOB was not just meant to compliment our business, but rather something bigger. EOB was OUR company, not just a company to represent. A company that compliments all essential oils, not just one brand. We took EOB out of the shadows and is now front and center of what we do and who we are. We are are changing the way we live. We want to live a more conscious life and we want to share this with the world. Our mission statement is simple...EOB is anchored in hope & soul and we are looking to change the world. We invite you on our journey and we hope you love the brand that comes with our #liveclean movement. XO, Mona
